A sprawling Southern charmer with top-notch cuisine.
It may have "farm" in the name, but this isn’t roughin’ it.
Blackberry Farm sprawls over 4,200 acres in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It began in the 1930s as a couple’s charming dream home and has expanded into a retreat, all its charm intact, that marries the warmth of a rustic country inn with the refined, elevated standards of a luxury property. There are just 69 rooms; a handful are in the central house, but the majority are spread around the property in cottages and larger, multi-bedroom houses—golf carts included. The property has a solid sense of simple, homey fun. Interactive tours of the working, on-site farm bring guests to the gardens and introduce them to the source of the farm’s incredible cuisine. There are a ton of other activities to fill the afternoon—like Truffle Time, a hunt guided by none other than the Lagatto truffle dogs themselves.
This is as close as you’ll get to the peaceful bucolic life.
As the sky blushes with early morning light, mist lifts from the pastures. From atop the hill, you watch as the animals amble into the sunshine, the great Smoky Mountains standing in as an epic backdrop.
