The resort straddles a sacred Mayan cenote and treatments in the 32,000-square-foot spa are as reverent to the land as can be—you can have your body polished with chaya, a Yucatan native plant touted for its restorative power, or be wrapped in mineral mud scented with Indian tobacco. Adventurous types can go a step further at a temazcal ceremony, a shaman-led experience in a de facto Mesoamerican sweat lodge.

You’ve grown exceedingly bored with standard-issue gym offerings on the road, and there is nothing standard-issue about this place. Among the courses offered on-site? Aquallet (just what it sounds like), water pilates and a slack line. (A real slack line, not that new app at work).
