If you want a view of Palazzo Signoria, the Giotto Tower, or Santa Maria del Fiore (or all three) just ask. For special occasions—engagements, or perhaps just a week away from the kids—it’s worth splurging on the Tower Suite, housed in the round Byzantine-era brick walls that are purportedly the oldest in town, with prime views of the Duomo.

You like your history with a side of style—like what you’ll find in the Tower Bar, where apertifs and housemade gelato await promptly at 6:00pm (try the Perrier-Jouët champagne).

Starting the day with bottomless breakfast (just-baked pastries, a profusion of local meats) in the hotel’s stained-glass-windowed dining room has spoiled you for life—though your belt may say otherwise.
