All the hallmarks of jaw-dropping Greecian hotel design are present here: the pristine white-on-white interiors facing the Aegean, the infinity pools that merge sea and sky into an ever-undulating pool of blue. The enormous guest rooms (starting at 409-square-feet) have a hint of nautical elan—rope accessories; navy blue and sail-white piping on the furniture—and we loved the rounded barrel ceilings with inset lights meant to mimic the starry heavens. But it’s the luxuries like a rain shower and soaking tub with L’occitane amenities that you’ll linger over—what better way to chillax even further after your pilates session in the amphitheater? We think it’s well-worth upgrading to a suite with a private 215-square-foot swimming pool, barbecue and steam room.

It’s beachfront, and not just any stretch of sand: the hotel sits on cinematic Shirley Valentine beach (named for the British movie filmed there in 1989), where staffers await with umbrellas, daybeds and a brilliant edict: no watercraft, so as not to disturb the placid water.

Is this heaven? You’re stretched out on a cloud-soft massage table overlooking the glimmering Aegean. The air smells like aromatherapy, thanks to Mediterranean herbs: thyme, sage, Greek Mountain tea. Soon, your spa therapist will arrive, ready to begin your Mykonian Sea Scrub—complete with salts, corals and hazelnut oil. Heaven, indeed.
